چکیده

In this work, a finite-element model was elaborated to simulate the thermomechanical behavior of 6061 aluminum alloy during friction-stir welding (FSW). It shown that FSW-induced deformation is two-stage process. addition stirring action exerted by rotating tool probe, material in near-surface area stir zone also experienced secondary shoulder edge after passage tool. Both steps were found be comparable terms temperature and strain, but primarily concentrated layer. The effects rotation translation rates on FSW strain systematically examined. Depending particular conditions, peak predicted vary from 360 500 °C, while cumulative effective 12 45.

Analysis and Comparison of Friction Stir Welding and Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloy

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining process; i.e., no melting occurs. The welding process is promoted by the rotation and translation of an axis-symmetric non-consumable tool along the weld centerline. Thus, the FSW process is performed at much lower temperatures than conventional fusion welding, nevertheless it has some disadvantages. Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding (LAFS...

Friction stir lap welding (FSLW) raises the possibility of fabricating high-performance aluminum components at low cost and high efficiency. In this study, we mainly applied FSLW to fabricate multi-track 2024 aluminum alloy without using tool tilt angle, which is important for obtaining defect-free joint but significantly increases equipment cost. Firstly, systematic single-track FSLW experimen...

Finite element simulation of microstructure evolution during friction stir welding of automotive aluminum parts

7000 series Aluminum alloys are widely used in the automotive industries for structural lightweight components due to their exceptional high strength to weight ratio. However, this class of aluminum alloy is difficult to join by conventional fusion welding techniques so Friction stir welding (FSW) widely is used for welding this alloys. The process has been demonstrated to be effective and is c...
